Wiltshire has not migrated, so both halves still come from the council. On the last individually published schedule a residential search is £155 for the CON29 plus 33 for the LLC1, and the expedited tier is 243 plus 55. Commercial is 216, or 325 expedited. Wiltshire publishes no VAT column and no VAT note anywhere in the schedule, so do not assume the usual split where the LLC1 is outside scope and the CON29 is standard rated.

Wiltshire publishes no turnaround at all, but it publishes something that tells you almost as much: an expedited tier at a 57 to 67 per cent premium. Two service levels demonstrably exist and neither is quantified. The boundary with Swindon now splits the search in two. Swindon Borough Council transferred its local land charges register to HM Land Registry on 10 April 2026, so the LLC1 for a Swindon flat comes from the national register. Wiltshire Council does not appear on the government's list of transferred authorities, last updated on 18 September 2026, so its LLC1 still comes from the council. A conveyancer handling one sale in central Swindon and another in Chippenham, Marlborough or Royal Wootton Bassett is therefore working with two suppliers, two fee schedules and, on the Wiltshire side, a council that sells an expedited tier. Bath and North East Somerset, on Wiltshire's western edge, transferred on 16 January 2026.
