Major Works

The major works process can often feel complex and challenging to navigate. To provide clarity and reassurance, we have compiled a list of frequently asked questions to help address common queries and provide guidance throughout the process. If you require any further information or have additional questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our team.

Understanding Major Works Fees

Having a clear understanding of how fees for major works projects are calculated is important for transparency and peace of mind. We have prepared a comprehensive guide outlining our fee structure to help you better understand the costs involved and how these are determined.

My Resident User Guide

Discover My Resident, our online customer portal designed to enhance your experience and provide convenient access to essential services and information. This guide will take you through the key features of the portal, helping you make the most of the tools available and highlighting the benefits it offers as part of your service package.

Client Money Protection

The RICS operates a Client Money Protection Scheme (CMPS) in the UK to provide protection and reassurance regarding the handling of client funds. PBM is a proud member of the RICS Client Money Protection Scheme and is an RICS Registered Firm. For your reference, we have provided a copy of our client money handling procedures below, outlining the processes and safeguards we have in place.

Privacy Policy

At PBM, we are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information with care and transparency. We only collect, store and use your information where necessary and in accordance with our privacy obligations. To learn more about how we manage and protect your data, please refer to our privacy policy. If you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact our team.

Where to Get Independent Advice

Some questions are better answered by someone with no interest in the outcome. The Leasehold Advisory Service is a government-funded body giving free initial advice to leaseholders on service charges, lease extensions, Right to Manage and enfranchisement.

For a dispute about whether a service charge is reasonable or payable, the First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber) is the venue, and it is designed to be used without a solicitor. For a complaint about how an agent has behaved rather than about a cost, The Property Ombudsman is the route once the agent's own complaints procedure has been exhausted.
