It is widely recognised that a significant proportion of fire doors do not meet required standards when inspected. Common defects include excessive gaps, damaged or missing seals, defective self-closing mechanisms and non-compliant hardware, all of which can compromise performance in the event of a fire.

Given the potential risks, a consistent and structured inspection regime is essential. Our fire door inspection service is designed to identify issues at an early stage, provide clear and detailed reporting, and support ongoing compliance with current fire safety regulations.

Certified Inspectors

All inspections are undertaken by certified inspectors, operating within a robust governance framework and aligned with recognised industry standards, professional accreditation requirements and best-practice guidance.

Our Fire Door Inspection Services

Asset Tagging & Digital Reporting

Each fire door is assigned a detailed digital asset record and fitted with a discreet QR identification tag, providing secure, real-time access to its inspection history, condition reports and compliance data. This supports robust, auditable record-keeping in line with ‘Golden Thread’ requirements.

Structured Inspection Process

Certified inspectors undertake a detailed, multi-stage inspection process, incorporating over 60 individual checks per door. All inspections are carried out in accordance with the Fire Door Inspection Scheme (FDIS) methodology and relevant British Standards, ensuring consistent, reliable and defensible outcomes.

Defect Identification & Reporting

All identified defects are recorded with supporting photographic or video evidence and securely stored within our digital management system. For each issue we provide an independent, clearly defined recommended course of action, enabling third-party contractors to quote accurately without further investigative works.
